At William O’Neil Securities, our goal is to leverage our unique and differentiated services to provide our clients with the best service possible to ensure they reach their investment goals.

I sold equity research at the traditional Wall Street banks for 22 years, but what we do here is different.  Our founder, William J. O’Neil, developed a methodology that removes emotion from buying and selling stocks. And, it works. It allows us to help traders add significant value to the investment process.

After earning an undergraduate degree in economics and my MBA at Wharton, I sought a Wall Street position. I enjoy the sales process and helping clients and I wanted to work in the equity markets, so equity sales was a great fit. I started my career at Sanford C Bernstein and then worked in sales and sales management at a few of the global banks, including Credit Suisse and UBS Investment Bank.

In college, I had an internship working as a cold caller and stayed in sales after college, working at Proctor and Gamble.  Both of those experiences helped me learn about selling to clients and helped me develop entrepreneurial skills as I figured out how to build my businesses.

My interest in the stock market came from my grandfather. He was an investor and somewhat of a technician.  I would sit with him as he charted stocks on his Apple IIe computer.

I play a lot of sports in my spare time. Squash and golf are my two passions.

William O’Neil Securities has such outstanding team. I was drawn to finance by the excitement, the teamwork, the gratification of success, and the opportunity to build dynamic relationships.

Over the past 20 years of my career, I am thankful to have had the varied experiences of being a Nasdaq Market Maker, Institutional Sales, and a Sales Trader. I have experienced the volatility of not only the markets but the industry as a whole.

The responsibility that came with being a Nasdaq Market Maker at Tucker Anthony provided me with a great foundation. And my experience at Canaccord Adams expanded my trading expertise into the global marketplace.

Throughout college I subscribed to the Wall Street Journal. A friend, accurately sensing my interest in finance, suggested an internship with her father, a retail stock broker. His disciplined approach was similar to the O’Neil Methodology and he was a great mentor to me. That discipline fuels my passion to integrate our methodology into our client’s investment processes.

As a former President of the Boston Security Traders Association and STA Governor I have had the opportunity to work with fellow investment executives on industry-related projects. We also support lots of charitable organizations, which has been a truly rewarding experience.

I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and two daughters.
